With the “Speed Alert” service you can control whether the usage of the assigned vehicle takes place within or outside of a speed limit determined by you. This only applies if the service has not been manually deactivated in the Infotainment system.
You can create a speed threshold for the first time only on the Car-Net portal. As soon as you have done so, you can also adjust the speed for each threshold using the Car-Net app, if necessary.
You can set up to 10 speed thresholds in the range from 0 to 160 km/h
Please note that only up to two speed thresholds can be active at the same time.
Notification about the vehicle exceeded an activated speed threshold is provided via the push notification and email notification information channels.
A pop-up message may appear in the infotainment system display every time the ignition is switched on, stating that the vehicle is being actively monitored. This message disappears only when the driver confirms that they have read it by pressing the corresponding button in the infotainment system.
This message appears only if the "Speed Alert" function has been activated on the Customer Portal before switching on the ignition. If the function is only activated after the ignition is switched on, the message will not appear until after the ignition has been switched off.
You can define a speed threshold on the Car-Net portal.
The determination of speed is the theoretical alert threshold for the notification. Due to loss of quality in the transmission of signals and the conversion of data using technical software, the practical notification threshold can deviate from the specified speed by up to 5 km/h.
You can set up a total of 10 different speed limits, but you can only activate three speed limits of above 1 km/h for the vehicle.
