The Apps and Services from Volkswagen Car-Net are not only pioneering in terms of their features, but also the way in which they are operated. Once you have ordered the Car-Net services for your vehicle and registered your vehicle on the Car-Net Portal, all you need to do is activate the service in the vehicle. You can then plan your next journey from the comfort of your sofa. View relevant vehicle information on the screen of your computer, tablet or Smartphone and conveniently access your settings via the online Car-Net Portal.
In order that you can use the mobile online services from anywhere, set up your personal Car-Net account now and then register your vehicle. Here you can find a step-by-step guide to setting up an account.
After registering, you can call up and control the functions that are manageable within the Car-Net services by using the Car-Net Portal or the Volkswagen Car-Net app via your mobile end device.

With the “Area Alert” service you can control whether the usage of the assigned vehicle takes place within or outside of a geographical area determined by you.
You can create an area for the first time only on the Car-Net portal in the large “Area Alert” tile. As soon as you have done so, you can then also activate or deactivate the area alerts using the Car-Net app if necessary.
You can set up up to 10 areas.
Please note: Only up to 4 areas can be active at a time.
Notification about the vehicle crossing an activated and defined boundary is provided via the push notification and email notification information channels.
A pop-up message may appear in the infotainment system display every time the ignition is switched on, stating that the vehicle is being actively monitored. This message disappears only when the driver confirms that they have read it by pressing the corresponding button in the infotainment system.
This message appears only if the "Area Alert" function has been activated on the Customer Portal before switching on the ignition. If the function is only activated after the ignition is switched on, the message will not appear until after the ignition has been switched off.
The vehicle user uses the Customer Portal or the app to specify up to ten areas and active times, during which their vehicle may not leave the areas (green areas) or may not enter certain areas (red areas).
The schedule and the areas can be set optionally on a one-off or a recurring basis. Area monitoring can also be permanently active. Scheduling is optional.
You specify the limits of the area by plotting the geographical area directly on the map. However, the area can only be round or square in shape, and is not accurate to the borders of the federal state.
