Customer Services
0800 333 666

1. What is the advantage of this Service?

With the Speed Alert Service, you can check whether the vehicle is being used or driven within a speed threshold that you define. This is applicable unless the Service has been deactivated manually in the infotainment system.

2. How do I set a speed threshold?

You can only create a speed threshold for the first time in the Customer Portal. As soon as you have done so, you can then adjust the speed for each threshold using the Car-Net app.

3. How many speed thresholds can I set?

You can set up to ten speed thresholds.

Please note, however, that only up to four speed thresholds can be active at the same time.

4. How do I receive the notification?

In order to be notified if the vehicle crosses an activated speed threshold, you must have specified the information channel beforehand. The available information channels are push messages and email notifications.

5. Is a speed infringement displayed in the vehicle, too? If so, how?

A pop-up message may appear in the infotainment system display every time the ignition is switched on, stating that the vehicle is being actively monitored. This message disappears only when the driver confirms that they have read it by pressing the corresponding button in the infotainment system.

This message appears only if the "Speed Alert" function has been activated on the Customer Portal before switching on the ignition. If the function is only activated after the ignition is switched on, the message will not appear until after the ignition has been switched off.

6. Where can I specify the speed thresholds?

You can define a speed threshold on the Customer Portal.

7. How accurately is the speed recorded?

A defined speed acts as the theoretical warning threshold for the notification. However, the practical notification threshold may differ by up to 5 km/h from the defined speed due to quality losses during the signal transfer and due to the software's data conversion.

8. How many speed thresholds can be defined?

You can set up a total of 10 different speed thresholds, but you can only activate three speed thresholds above 1 km/h for the vehicle.
