IT HELPS WHEN THE CAR CHECKS ITSELF.

The Vehicle Health Report provides information on the current status of the vehicle and is particularly useful before a journey. It lists warning messages, due or overdue maintenance events and also archives them. In addition, the current status of driver assistance systems is displayed. The Vehicle Health Report can be requested automatically or manually.

Vehicle Health Report

• Automatically creates reports after a certain period of time or after a set distance • Sends notifications via email or SMS as soon as an automatically generated vehicle report has been created • If a manual vehicle report is requested, this will be created as soon as the car goes online • Shows status information such as tyre pressure, fluid levels, brake wear and service intervals • Provides information on warning notices and maintenance intervals

WHAT YOU NEED TO USE CAR-NET.

DISCOVER MEDIA’ OR ‘DISCOVER PRO’ NAVIGATION SYSTEM.

The ‘Discover Media’ navigation system features a 16.5 cm (6.5-inch) touchscreen. The 2D and 2.5D map view permits route selection using three criteria (fast, short, economical). The system allows your mobile phone to be easily linked to the vehicle with the help of Bluetooth® wireless technology.

The ‘Discover Pro’ system displays 3D maps on a large 20.3 cm (8-inch) touchscreen. In addition, the destinations can be conveniently selected using voice command.

CUSTOMER PORTAL.

The Apps and Services from Volkswagen Car-Net are not only pioneering in terms of their features, but also the way in which they are operated. Once you have ordered the Car-Net services for your vehicle and registered your vehicle on the customer portal, all you need to do is activate the service in the vehicle. You can then plan your next journey from the comfort of your sofa. View relevant vehicle information on the screen of your computer or tablet and conveniently access your settings via the online customer portal.

CONNECTION TECHNOLOGIES

WLAN CLIENT.

A mobile phone tariff with sufficient data volume is required to use the WLAN client. The system connects to the Internet via your smartphone’s mobile hotspot. Depending on your mobile phone tariff and especially when being used abroad, additional costs may be incurred (e.g. roaming fees) when receiving data packages from the Internet. Use the links to download instructions on how to pair your smartphone and find out more about infotainment.

Discover Pro

or

‘PREMIUM’ RSAP AND MOBILE PHONE INTERFACE.

The Car-Net Apps and Services can also be used with the ‘Discover Pro’ navigation system in conjunction with the ‘Premium’ mobile phone interface. The integrated telephone module makes it possible to connect to the Internet when you insert a data SIM card in the slot.

Instead of using an extra SIM card, you can also use the data tariff on your smartphone, as long as it is Bluetooth®-compatible and has the remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP). Check the compatibility of your mobile phone here.

Discover Pro

or

UMTS CARSTICK.

The UMTS CarStick requires its own SIM card with sufficient data volume. The WLAN hotspot works in this way and is independent of the smartphone connection. The link will redirect you straight to the product in the Volkswagen E-shop.

Frequently asked questions.

We have answered the questions most frequently asked about Car-Net for you below. Of course, you are also welcome to call us on our hotline.

Customer Services
0800 333 666

1. What information is included in the Report?

At the time of generation, the Vehicle Health Report contains not only the vehicle data (vehicle identification number, mileage) but also certain statuses of the warning lamps in the instrument cluster (a selection, e.g. bulb defective) and information about the next service requirement.

2. How do I receive this Report?

By requesting it manually in the Car-Net portal. It can always be viewed there in your User account area. The following are required: successful registration in the Car-Net portal and the successful pairing of your smartphone with your vehicle or a SIM card in your vehicle, so that there is a mobile network connection. All the necessary data can then be acquired and the Report can be prepared.

3. Can I print out the Report?

Yes, you have the option of printing out any Report using the "Print" button.

4. Can I load the Report onto my own PC?

Yes, you can download any Report as a PDF.

5. Is it always only possible to view the latest Report?

No, all the prepared Reports are archived and retained for 24 months. The memory capacity is limited to 50 Vehicle health reports.

6. Most of the function groups are green but one function is displayed in yellow in the overall view. Why?

The status display in the overview always refers to all the function groups under a function. As soon as one function group reports back yellow or red, this affects the status of the overall function. This means that the start screen of the Report immediately indicates where there are faults.

7. Do I have to follow the information in the header row and the recommendations in the message row?

This is merely a recommendation and not a stipulation. Please observe the specifications in the Car manual. The direct display in the vehicle and the instructions in the Car manual are definitive. However, we recommend following the information and instructions, especially in the event of severe system faults, in order to prevent more serious damage to your vehicle. It should also be noted that you may place yourself and others in danger by ignoring any faults.

8. Does my vehicle continually transmit the current information?

No! The information is always only transmitted to the Car-Net portal shortly after the engine is switched off, provided that there is a mobile network connection at that time. If you do not start your vehicle for five days later, for example, then the data will be five days old. It should also be noted that any damage or malfunctions in the vehicle that occur after the vehicle is switched off will not be recorded. Unnoticed damage such as on the underbody may mean, for example, that engine oil may have leaked out after the engine was switched off, although the Vehicle Health Report displays the accurate engine oil level.
